People more familiar with the WHS collections may recognize this real photo post card, but it is new to me. I wonder if repairs to the railroad tracks were being made and everyone had to get transfer to buses when they reached Wenonah? If you know what was going on in the photo from what I estimate to be the 1940s please share your information. The card is currently available on ebay.

WENONAH PAYS HONOR TO HEROIC WAR DEAD

Wenonah. May 30 Romain C. Hassrick, Philadelphia attorney and Chef de Gare of the 40 et 8, delivered the Memorial D&y oration at exercises conducted here today by the Arthur J. Holeton Post, American Legion Exercises were held in the post hall and later the legionnaires, headed by their bugle and drum corps, accompanied by children of the Junior Garden Club, all carrying flags, marched to the Wenonah cemetery. There the graves were decorated and brief ceremonies were held.

1965 Wenonah Athletic Association First Annual Sports Dinner program

Larry Smith wrote: Here's an item that Charlie Horan shared at the WHS show-and-tell meeting on January 11, 2019, and donated to the Wenonah Historical Society. It's the program from Wenonah Athletic Association's First Annual Sports Dinner in 1965. There are a lot of familiar names on the three teams and among the advertisers. In 1965 baseball was the sport that the association was built around.

1985 and 1992 Annuual Carriage Parade

This poster was included in the donation received from John and Melissa Lock. Anyone remember what year the parade came through Wenonah?

Mystery solved!!!

A letter from the Underwood Memorial Hospital Horse Show and Fair Committee was read at the September 13, 1985 meeting of the Wenonah Historical Society thanking the Society for its help in making the fair a success.

Therefore, the parade came through Wenonah in 1985. (I confirmed that June 9, 1985 was a Sunday as noted on the poster.)
